The Hotel is a perfect base from which to explore the traditional villages of the region, to walk in the Lousios gorge or to head off towards Lake Stymphalia where there are hides from which you may bird watch.

Situated on the area of Lake Stymfalia is the brand new “Environment Museum of Stymfalia”, a cultural asset to discover the beautiful ecosystem of the lake. Guests can also enjoy wine tasting at the famous vineyards at nearby Nemea.

A nice proposal for a day excursion is the beautiful and picturesque Panagia of Vraxou in Tarso. Once you get there you have the chance to visit Trikala as well.

In the Winter you can even ski at the Kalavrita Ski Resort, just 65 kms or 1 hour’s drive away.

In warmer weather the coast is only half an hour’s drive away should you want to swim in the beautiful waters of the Gulf of Corinth, perhaps at the light shingle beach at Kiato, Dhiminio or Xilocastro.

107 kms. along the Athens-Patras National Motorway, take the exit signposted to Kiato.

After 200 meters you will need to take a left turn inland towards the mountains. You are then only 50 kilometers from our hotel in Kastania Korinthias.

Follow the signs for Goura and Kastania. The Astra Hotel is in the village of Kastania on the main street, on the left towards the end of the village.
